Eurostar ran extra trains
Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service linking the UK to mainland Europe, ran more than 60 extra trains since the Icelandic volcano erupted, in order to help stranded air passengers back to Britain.
The additional seats allowed for an extra 50,000 passengers to make the journey by Eurostar than usual, with the company running nearly 400 trains over the crisis period.
